Greetings, everyone! I hope this post finds you well as we embark on another exciting year. I'm thrilled to share an update on my ongoing book series, The Dark Ichalocha of Terres Nei. There's been a whirlwind of activity behind the scenes, and I’m eager to let you in on the progress and plans for the series. Let’s dive right in.
A Quick Recap
As many of you know, I’ve published six books in the Dark Ichalocha series over the past two years. These books are available on Amazon.com for Kindle and on Meganovel.com, so you can choose the platform that suits you best.
Now, you might be wondering: what’s next? Let me walk you through the exciting roadmap ahead.
Current Progress
1. Work on Book 13
I’m currently working on the first draft of Book 13, which is well ahead in the storyline. This installment is shaping up to be a pivotal piece of the puzzle, as the series is set to conclude with Book 14. I’m pouring a lot of thought and care into this draft to ensure it’s a fitting lead-up to the grand finale.
2. Book 7’s Release Timeline
While crafting Book 13, I’m also polishing Book 7 for its upcoming release in late spring (April or May). Here’s a snapshot of the editing process:
Third Draft: Conducting grammar checks and refining the narrative.
Fourth Draft: Using audio listening to ensure the story flows smoothly.
Fifth Draft: Performing a final grammar check before publication.
The anticipation of bringing this installment to life is electrifying, and I can’t wait to share it with you all.
3. Preparing for Book 14
Once the first draft of Book 13 is complete, I’ll dive into the final book of the main storyline: Book 14. While this will mark the end of the main arc, rest assured, it’s going to be an unforgettable conclusion. The concept for this book is already taking shape, and I’m excited to bring it to fruition.
Expanding the Universe
4. Prequel Development
A standalone prequel is in the works! This project will delve into the backstories of significant characters from the main series, offering a richer understanding of their journeys and motivations. I’m committed to making this prequel a captivating addition to the Dark Ichalocha universe.
5. Spinoff Plans
There’s also a spinoff trilogy brewing, which explores a forgotten history in another realm that connects to the main story. While I’ve started writing this, I’ve decided to put it on hold until the main series is complete. Tentatively, I plan to resume work on this project in 2026. This spinoff promises to expand the lore and deepen the ties within the Terres Nei world.
Enhancing the Reader Experience
6. Website Updates
One of my goals this year is to enhance the Terres Nei website with interactive features. Here are a few highlights of what’s to come:
Maps: I’ve successfully created detailed maps of key regions in Terres Nei.
Interactive Content: Plans include audio files from the story, manga artwork, and a language system.
These updates will roll out gradually, serving as milestones in the website’s development.
7. Language System
The Terres Nei language system is another exciting project in progress. The design includes:
Font Script Designs: Transliteration fonts are complete.
Translation Process: The system translates English words into Terres Nei transliteration, followed by the action font.
Inspired by eastern languages like Japanese, Chinese, Korean, and Mongolian, the codex will be read left to right and top to bottom. This design choice adds a layer of authenticity and cultural depth to the series.
8. Character Design
I’ve decided to take character design into my own hands this year. While AI technology has been a useful tool in the past, I’m shifting to creating artwork that reflects the soul and spirit of the story. Expect character designs that truly capture the essence of Terres Nei.
9. Magic Sigil System
Another artistic endeavor underway is the creation of a magic sigil system. This will represent the elements of metaphysical magic within the series, adding a visual and symbolic layer to the world of Terres Nei.
Looking Ahead
Although the main series is nearing its conclusion, there’s still plenty to explore and develop within the Dark Ichalocha universe. From standalone stories and spinoffs to enhanced reader experiences, my commitment to deepening the lore and expanding the world remains steadfast.
